Safety and compliance

Children's products sold in the United States must meet federal safety rules under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). This page explains how we apply them.

Before a children's product goes on sale

• We get the third-party lab test report for that exact product from its supplier, and check that the lab is accepted by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
• We check the report against the US standard for the product type, for example ASTM F963 for toys.
• We get the Children's Product Certificate from the US maker or importer and keep it on file. For any product we import ourselves, we issue the certificate.
• We record the age grade, and the product page shows it.

Age grades and small parts

Products with small parts are graded 3 years and up, as federal rules require. Small parts are judged by the test in 16 CFR 1501. Products for ages 3 to 5 that contain small parts carry a choking hazard warning. Montessori materials with small pieces are graded 3 years and up, and their product pages say when an adult should supervise.

California Proposition 65

Lindenkin has fewer than 10 employees and is outside the Proposition 65 warning requirement. No chemical listed under Proposition 65 has been identified in our products.

Furniture

Shelves should be anchored to the wall with the anti-tip hardware supplied. Follow the maker's weight limits for learning towers.

Report a safety concern

If you have a safety concern about a product you bought from us, tell us through our contact page. You can also report it directly to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission at SaferProducts.gov.

Certificates and recalls

You can ask us for the Children's Product Certificate of any product through our contact page. If a product we sell is recalled, we contact every customer who bought it. You can also check recalls at cpsc.gov/Recalls.
